Cupha erymanthis, commonly known as the Rustic, is a captivating brush-footed butterfly found in forested areas of tropical South Asia and Southeast Asia. Both males and females exhibit identical features

Appearance:

Upperside: The Rustic’s upperside is ochraceous light brown. Its forewing displays slender, dark cellular markings in loop-like patterns. A broad, somewhat curved, transverse yellow discal band extends from the costa to vein 1. Although the band doesn’t reach the termen, it broadens posteriorly. The forewing margins are irregularly sinuous, with broad black definition along the inner margin. The hindwing features a slender black line, followed by a series of spots and lunules.
Underside: The underside is much paler. The discal band on the forewing is pale, and the black lunules on the apical area are replaced by pale brownish ochre. Both forewings and hindwings exhibit obscure markings in the cells
