Bhogeshwara, also known as Mr. Kabini, was a remarkable wild elephant in Asia. The elephant was a major attraction for tourists at the Kabini backwaters. With tusks measuring 2.54 meters and 2.34 meters in length, he held the distinction of having the longest tusks among Asian elephants. His gentle temperament and impressive tusks made him a beloved attraction for tourists at the Kabini backwaters in Karnataka’s Bandipur Tiger Reserve. For over three decades, Bhogeshwara’s calm demeanor and majestic tusks captivated visitors. Sadly, he passed away due to natural causes at the age of 60. His tusks were intact, and the forest department allowed the carcass to naturally decompose, providing sustenance for scavengers and predators.
