Ceriagrion cerinorubellum, commonly known as the orange-tailed marsh dart or bi-coloured damsel, is a medium-sized damselfly in the family Coenagrionidae. It’s a very common species of damselflies in Asia

Distribution: You can find this species in several Asian countries, including Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Malaysia, the Philippines, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand ¹.
Description: The orange-tailed marsh dart has greenish eyes and a bluish coloration on its upper body. Its thorax is yellowish green. The segments 1, 2, and the basal half of segments 3, as well as the apical half of segments 7 to 10, are brick red. Other segments are black on the dorsal half and pale blue on the ventral half. The female is similar to the male but more robust and with duller colors.
Habitat: These damselflies breed in weedy ponds, marshes, and other stillwater habitats. Look for them around ponds, rivers, and canals
