Caconeura ramburi, commonly known as the Coorg Bambootail or Indian blue bambootail, is a damselfly species found in the family Platycnemididae. It is endemic to the Western Ghats in India.
Description: Caconeura ramburi is a medium-sized damselfly with black-capped blue eyes. Its thorax is black on the dorsum and azure blue on the sides. The wings are transparent with black, diamond-shaped pterostigma. The abdomen is black with azure blue stripes on segments 1 and 2, while segments 3 to 7 have broad basal rings in azure blue. Segments 8 to 10 are azure blue on the dorsum, with black basal annules. The lateral side of segment 10 is black. In females, the markings are more greenish-blue or even yellow, except in very old specimens.
Habitat: These damselflies breed in forest streams and are commonly found perched on riparian vegetation along shaded streams. Their presence contributes to the rich biodiversity of the Western Ghats.
