Description:
- Appearance:
  - The male Grass Jewel has brown upper wings, with variations in tint depending on the local climate. Dry regions yield paler specimens compared to areas with heavier rainfall.
  - The hindwings of males feature a subterminal series of round black spots crowned with pale ochraceous. The posterior spots are well-defined and edged with white, while the anterior spots are less prominent.
  - The female Grass Jewel shares similar markings but with larger and clearer-defined patterns.
- Underside:
  - Pale silky brown with white markings.
  - Both forewings and hindwings exhibit intricate patterns of white lines, rings, and lunules.
  - The hindwing also features a complete series of dark spots encircled with pale ochraceous.
- Larva:
  - When fully grown, the larva is a little over a quarter of an inch in length.
  - Its body is grass-green, with a dark green dorsal line and two subdorsal series of paler parallel streaks.
